JOYFUL RAMBLINGS

growing OLD=

=adding collections

I have found that as we advance life, we tend to collect:

memories

things

friends

enemies

heartbreaks

joys

battles

victories

hobbies

thoughts

books

dreams

pictures

convictions

shoes

images

struggles

leaders

followers

accessories

pet-peeves

loves

injuries

experiences

knowledge

talks

walks

favorites

smells

likes

dislikes

mistakes

accomplishments

=for the most part, maturing involves learning which ones to keep and which ones to let go

=some people are just better at collecting

=but it doesn’t matter how good of a collector someone is, time is the only thing that can’t be collected, it is used up

=everyday choose to use it wiser than the day before

=choose to collect that which is eternal, and use time in such things

==But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him…forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
